The Lhasa Apso is a small companion dog that measures about 25 to 28 cm at the withers and weighs between 5 and 8 kg.
It has a compact, well-proportioned build with a deep chest and short but muscular legs.
Its coat is double, consisting of a long, straight and dense upper layer, and a soft and woolly lower layer.
This fur can be of different colors, including black, white, gray, sand or tan.
They often have a fairly round face with a square muzzle and expressive, almost piercing dark eyes.
The ears are pendulous and furnished with hair.
Lhasa Apsos have a unique personality of their own, characterized by great independence and a certain stubbornness.
They are very loyal to their family and can be suspicious of strangers, which makes them good watchdogs.
They can be quite reserved and dignified, but they can also be very playful and mischievous.
They need daily exercise, but their short legs mean they don't need a lot of room to exert themselves.
They are also known for their intelligence and ability to learn, but their stubborn nature can make training a little more difficult. Due to their long fur, they require regular brushing and special attention to avoid tangles.
