Very small dogs

Small dogs, sometimes called "dwarfs", are generally characterized by their compact size and moderate weight. Their height generally ranges from 28 to 48 cm at the withers and weigh between 5 and 10 kg, although this can vary between specific breeds.

The body of these dogs is generally compact, with a well-developed chest, well-sprung ribs and a short, straight back. They can be thin to medium boned, and their musculature is often well developed for their size.

The head of small to medium sized dogs varies between breeds, but is generally in proportion to their body. It can be wedge-shaped, rounded or intermediate in shape, often with a well-developed forehead. Ears can come in different sizes and shapes, but they are usually carried high on the head.

The coat of small to medium sized dogs can vary by breed, but it can be short, medium or long. Coat texture can also vary, ranging from smooth to curly to rough coat. Coat colors can be diverse, ranging from plain to multicolored.

Their character depends on the specific breeds, but in general they are often energetic, curious, and can be good family companions. They are suitable for living in an apartment or a house.
