Norfolk Terrier

The Norfolk Terrier is a breed of dog originating in England. He is a member of the terrier family and is known for his playful personality, determination, and love for outdoor activities.

The Norfolk Terrier is small in stature (23-25cm), with a compact and well-proportioned appearance. It has a large, round head, expressive eyes, and medium-sized drooping ears. Its body is robust (between 5 and 5.5 kg), with a short and straight back, a deep chest and muscular limbs. Its tail is usually carried straight and is of moderate length.

The coat of the Norfolk Terrier is dense, harsh and weather resistant. Common colors for this breed are red, wheaten, black and tan, and grizzle. Some Norfolk Terriers may also show white markings on the chest and extremities.

In terms of personality, the Norfolk Terrier is known to be a brave, intelligent, and devoted dog to his family. He is energetic, playful and likes to take part in activities such as running, hunting or just playing in the garden. Despite his small size, he has a big personality and can be reckless in the face of challenges.

The Norfolk Terrier is generally friendly towards members of its family and gets along well with children. However, he can be reserved or wary of strangers, which makes him a good watchdog. Early socialization is important to help build confidence and foster positive interactions with other dogs and animals.

As far as care goes, the Norfolk Terrier needs regular brushing to keep their coat in good condition. It is recommended to epilate twice a year to remove dead hair and keep the coat healthy. As with all dogs, regular dental care, ear check-ups, and visits to the vet are essential to ensure his overall health.
