The Podenco Canario is a breed of dog native to the Canary Islands in Spain.

Males generally measure between 55 and 64 cm at the withers, while females measure between 54 and 60 cm. The average weight generally varies between 20 and 25 kg.

The Podenco Canario has an athletic, well-proportioned and muscular body. The back is straight, the chest is deep, and the limbs are strong.

The coat is short, smooth and dense. Coat color can vary, but is often fawn or reddish. Some individuals may have white markings.

The head is proportionate to the body with a slightly convex skull. The muzzle is of medium length. The eyes are medium sized, almond shaped, dark brown to amber in color. The ears are large, erect and triangular. They can be mobile and are often carried erect or semi-erect.

The Podenco Canario is renowned for its intelligence, agility and liveliness. He is an active dog who needs physical and mental exercise.
